Blacon, Cheshire West and Chester: Safety
Safety
Blacon's crime rate has traditionally run above the UK average, but things are shifting. The monthly average has dropped noticeably in 2026, which is genuinely encouraging.
In 2024 and 2025, Blacon saw around 109 to 116 crimes per 1,000 residents — well above the UK average of roughly 89 to 91. So far in 2026, that's fallen to 61 per 1,000, with the monthly average down from 136 to 95. That's a real change for the better.
Anti-social behaviour has dropped too, from 127 incidents in 2024 to 58 so far in 2026. When you compare that to neighbouring Chester City and the Garden Quarter, which recorded over 238 crimes per 1,000 residents in 2025, Blacon comes across as considerably calmer.
