Hay, Powys: Transport
Transport
Getting around Hay means relying on a car. There's no train station, subway, or bike hire scheme, so driving is essential for most journeys.
The nearest railway is a drive away, and buses run infrequently, so you'll need to plan around their schedules. There's no car-share scheme in the area either.
The A438 runs close by, giving you reasonable road access to Hereford and Brecon. That makes driving the practical choice for commuting or reaching larger towns.
If you're moving from a well-connected city, this will feel like a significant shift. But if you already drive everywhere, the road links here work well enough.
