Ampthill, Central Bedfordshire: Transport
Transport
Ampthill is a strong choice if you drive. You've got straightforward access to the A507 and A6, which makes getting around easy. Public transport isn't as frequent as you'd find in bigger towns, though.
There's no railway station in the neighbourhood, but you can reach Bedford and beyond from nearby stations. Buses connect Ampthill to surrounding areas, though they don't run as often as you might like. If you depend on public transport for daily travel, check the routes that work for you first.
Cycling infrastructure is thin on the ground, and there's no bike-share scheme here. The road network, though, is genuinely useful. The A6 gives you a direct route north to Bedford and south toward Luton — that's valuable if you commute and could matter for your property investment long-term.
