World's End

World's End sits in a part of Burgess Hill and the surrounding Mid Sussex countryside that balances village calm with genuine commuter convenience. Low crime runs right across the area, and good schools are a consistent strength, from Ditchling's village primary to Warden Park Secondary and Holy Trinity in Cuckfield, plus Birchwood Grove and St Wilfrid's nearer Burgess Hill itself. Green space and clean air feature heavily too, giving the area a settled, family-friendly feel whether you're in a rural village or one of the town neighbourhoods. Transport links vary more than you might expect given how close together these areas are. Burgess Hill's own neighbourhoods (Franklands, Leylands and St Andrews) benefit from a railway station putting Brighton around 30 minutes away and London within the hour, which helps explain why over a third of residents in some of these wards work from home. Wivelsfield also has a station with similar reach. By contrast, Ditchling and Westmeston has no train station or bus stop at all, so you'll need a car, though the A23 and A273 keep Brighton and Burgess Hill within easy driving distance. Cuckfield, Bolney and Ansty leans on the A23 and M23 for the same purpose. House prices show clear variation depending on where you look. Burgess Hill Leylands offers the most affordable entry point, with flats around £199,000 and detached homes from £562,000, while St Andrews sits similarly accessible with detached properties averaging £546,000. Move towards the villages and prices climb sharply: Cuckfield, Bolney and Ansty sees detached homes average over £1 million, and Ditchling and Westmeston commands a premium for its conservation-area character. Wivelsfield sits more affordably than many neighbours. Day-to-day amenities follow a similar pattern, with Burgess Hill's neighbourhoods offering supermarkets, cafés and shops on the doorstep, while the villages rely on a smaller spread of pubs and local stores, with bigger shopping trips meaning a drive into Haywards Heath or Burgess Hill town centre.
