Weston Park

Weston Park sits on Bath's western side, drawing together a handful of neighbourhoods that share a strong reputation for schools, low crime and clean air. Weston itself offers a practical mix of everyday amenities, with a dentist, pharmacy and nursing home close by, plus solid road links and competitively priced flats and terraces, though semi-detached homes come at a premium. Crime figures across the surrounding area are consistently low and falling, and healthcare provision is comprehensive, whether that's GPs and pharmacies within reach or hospitals just outside. A clear pattern runs through the wider area: these are places built for homeworkers and families rather than commuters. Over half of employed residents in Bathavon North and Lansdown work from home, and Newbridge isn't far behind, which takes the pressure off limited local public transport in the quieter spots. Where you do get strong transport links, as in Kingsmead with its train and bus stations, you also get a livelier, more urban feel with restaurants, cafés and shops on tap, though crime figures there run higher, mostly down to town-centre activity rather than residential risk. Schools are a consistent strength throughout, with Outstanding and Good-rated primaries scattered across the area and Kingswood School anchoring Lansdown's family appeal. House prices vary considerably depending on which part of Weston Park you're looking at. Lansdown sits at the top end, with detached homes averaging £1,383,000, and Bathavon North isn't far behind at £852,000, both reflecting their appeal to professionals wanting space and a settled, village-like setting. Kingsmead and Newbridge offer more affordable entry points, particularly for flats, while Weston itself provides some of the better value across housing types. Whatever your budget, transport costs tend to run below the UK average across the area, thanks to good walkability and, in the central neighbourhoods, excellent public transport.
