Radipole
Radipole sits in a well-connected pocket of Weymouth, with its own railway station and easy access to the A354 giving residents quick links into town and beyond. The neighbourhood itself has plenty going for it day-to-day, with six supermarkets, several parks, a dentist and a pharmacy all close by. Families are well catered for too, with Southill and St John's primary schools both rated Good. Crime has fallen year on year here, now sitting below both the South West and national averages, while the mild coastal climate and good air quality add to the everyday appeal.
The surrounding wards share much of this character. Chickerell, Littlemoor & Preston, and Westham are all car-reliant coastal communities with falling crime, clean air and solid local schools, several rated Good or Outstanding. Melcombe Regis stands out as the exception, a genuinely walkable seafront neighbourhood where a quarter of commutes happen on foot, backed by strong healthcare provision and a railway station of its own. Upwey & Broadwey offers a quieter, village feel, also with direct rail access, keeping daily amenities just a short trip away in Weymouth itself.
Housing varies noticeably across the area. Westham offers the cheapest entry point, with flats from £160,000, while Melcombe Regis flats sit around £181,000. Radipole itself offers better value than Upwey & Broadwey for detached homes, and Littlemoor & Preston's terraces undercut the wider area even as its detached and semi-detached prices run higher. Across the board, lower transport and grocery costs help keep everyday living affordable, making this a practical and increasingly popular part of Weymouth for families, commuters and first-time buyers alike.
