Northcourt

Northcourt sits within Abingdon, and the surrounding neighbourhoods paint a picture of a family-friendly area that balances small-town convenience with easy access to Oxford. Schools are the standout feature across the board, from Good-rated state primaries and secondaries to well-known independents like Abingdon School, Radley College and Our Lady's Abingdon. Health provision is strong too, with GPs, pharmacies and hospitals close at hand. Crime runs consistently low and keeps falling year on year, while the Thames Valley setting delivers excellent air quality throughout. Getting around generally means having a car, as bus and rail links are limited outside a few pockets. Kennington & Radley and Peachcroft are exceptions, both offering railway stations with direct lines to Oxford, which makes them well suited to commuters. Elsewhere, road links via the A34 and A415 keep Oxford, the M4 and surrounding towns within easy reach. Day-to-day shopping tends to be modest within each neighbourhood, with supermarkets, pharmacies and a handful of shops covering the basics, while bigger retail and dining options sit just outside in Abingdon or Oxford itself. House prices vary noticeably across the area, giving buyers real choice. Peachcroft offers some of the most affordable options, with flats from around £183,000 and detached homes near £520,000, while Abingdon Fitzharris and Abingdon Abbey Northcourt command higher prices for semis and terraces thanks to their strong school catchments. Marcham and Abingdon Dunmore offer a middle ground, with Marcham's detached and semi-detached homes pricing below most neighbours. Across all these neighbourhoods, the common thread is space, safety and good schooling at a more accessible price than central Oxford, making Northcourt and its surrounding wards a strong pick for families and commuters alike.
