Headlands

Headlands sits within the Daventry district, drawing together a mix of village and town neighbourhoods that share a strong family-friendly feel. Schools are a real strength here, with Good and even Outstanding Ofsted ratings cropping up across the area, including the Outstanding Welton Church of England Academy. Crime rates are low and falling throughout, air quality is consistently good, and the overall picture is one of settled, lower-risk living that suits families and professionals alike. Housing is where you'll notice the most variation. Daventry North West and Daventry South offer some of the most affordable options, with flats dipping to around £123,800 and £128,000, while Long Buckby and Braunston & Crick command higher prices thanks to their village charm and railway or canal-side settings. Rents are climbing steadily across the board, pointing to solid demand from both buyers and tenants. Whichever ward you look at, you'll find a good spread of pubs, cafés and everyday healthcare, though larger supermarkets and shops tend to sit just outside the immediate boundary in Daventry town centre. Getting around generally means relying on a car. The A45, A361, A5 and M1 all feature heavily in these neighbourhoods, making commuting to Northampton or Rugby straightforward, and it's no surprise that a high proportion of residents work from home. Long Buckby is the exception, with its own railway station offering a direct public transport link. Taken together, Headlands works well for anyone wanting village or suburban calm, good schools and easy road connections, with the trade-off being limited bus services and a need for your own transport.
