Findrassie

Findrassie sits on the edge of Elgin, giving it a quiet, semi-rural feel while keeping the city's amenities within easy reach. The surrounding neighbourhoods of Elgin City North and Elgin City South cover the practical side of daily life well, with supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and shops all close by, plus train and bus stations that connect you to Inverness and Aberdeen. The A96 runs through the area too, so road links east and west are strong, and healthcare is well covered, with two hospitals and a good spread of GPs, dentists and pharmacies nearby. Families are especially well served here. Schools in the surrounding area include Seafield Primary, Bishopmill Primary, Greenwards Primary and Elgin Academy, with Elgin High School also close by, and Moray College UHI on hand for further education. Heldon and Laich, just to the west, adds Gordonstoun to the mix for those seeking a private option, along with further choice in GP and pharmacy provision. Living costs across the area run close to or below the UK average, with lower council tax and transport costs helping household budgets go further. Rental prices stay well below the Scottish average, making it a good option for those after more space without city prices. Crime levels are low throughout, and the setting shifts from Elgin's walkable, amenity-rich streets to the quieter, coastal and rural character found in Heldon and Laich and Fochabers Lhanbryde further out. Wherever you land within the area, a car makes journeys easier, though the mix of road and rail links means getting to Inverness or Aberdeen is never much trouble.
