Drumgor sits within the Craigavon area of County Armagh, and the neighbourhoods around it share a strong family-friendly character built on affordable living and good school access. Schools are a real strength here, with options like Dickson Primary, Carrick Primary, St Ronan's College, Portadown College and Southern Regional College's Lurgan Campus all within easy reach, alongside GP practices, dentists and everyday shops covering daily needs. Living costs run consistently below the UK average across the board, from council tax to groceries, and rents stay affordable even as they rise gradually, making this a sound option if you're after more space for your money. Crime is a genuine bright spot, with rates falling steadily across every neighbourhood and sitting below both Northern Ireland and UK averages, including historically higher-crime spots like Shankill, which has seen a clear recent turnaround. Burglary rates stay consistently low throughout. Air quality is good everywhere thanks to the mix of rural and residential settings, though this does mean you'll need a car for daily life. Public transport is limited across the board, so road links matter: the A3 provides solid access to Lurgan, Portadown and beyond, while Craigavon Centre stands out for its added rail connections, making commuting to Belfast or Armagh more straightforward. There's some variation in how built-up each area feels. Bleary and Waringstown lean more rural and village-like, with convenience stores and a primary school covering the basics while bigger shops and restaurants sit a short drive away. Brownlow, Kernan, Mourneview and Shankill offer a fuller residential setup with more local amenities, and Craigavon Centre has the edge for choice, with a wider mix of shops, restaurants and EV charging points on top of its transport links. Whichever part of Drumgor you're looking at, the common thread is clear: affordable, settled family living with falling crime and reliable school options, provided you're happy relying on a car to get around.
