Cutteslowe

Cutteslowe is a settled, well-connected part of north Oxford, prized for its family-friendly feel and easy access to the city centre via the A40 and A4165, as well as good cycling and bus routes. Crime rates run well below the national average throughout the area, and air quality is consistently excellent. House prices sit in the middle of the local range, costing more than Marston or Wolvercote but less than Summertown, and the mix of housing stock gives buyers plenty of choice, from Wolvercote's detached homes and flats to Marston's more affordable semis and terraces. Schools are a genuine strength here. The Cherwell School enjoys an Outstanding rating, and it's backed up by other well-regarded options, including St Nicholas' Primary, The Swan School and St Edward's, so families have strong choices nearby whichever part of Cutteslowe they settle in. Local life is well served too, with supermarkets, parks, fitness facilities, cafés and independent shops all within easy reach, plus healthcare, including a hospital and GP practices, close at hand in Summertown. What stands out across the wards is just how many residents work from home, easing pressure on local transport and giving the area a quieter, more settled rhythm than much of Oxford. Wolvercote offers the greenest outlook, with 9 local green spaces and a real step up in air quality, while Summertown commands the highest prices thanks to its Banbury Road amenities and strong transport links. Cutteslowe itself sits comfortably between these, offering space, security and good connections without the premium price tag of its southern neighbour.
