Baltytum

Baltytum brings together a mix of County Armagh villages and neighbourhoods, from Ballybay and Richhill to Corcrain, Killycomain, Mahon, Loughgall and The Birches, all sharing a rural or semi-rural feel with lower-than-average living costs and clean air. Across the board, crime rates run well below the UK average, and several neighbourhoods, including Corcrain and Killycomain, have seen steady improvement in recent years. Groceries, utilities and council tax all cost less than the UK norm, and rents stay affordable throughout, with three-bed homes in Corcrain and two-bed properties in Mahon offering particularly good value. Families are well served wherever you look. Each neighbourhood has decent primary school coverage, often within walking distance, and secondary, grammar or faith school options sit close by in Portadown or Armagh. Healthcare and everyday amenities, including GPs, dentists, supermarkets and pubs, tend to cluster in the more built-up spots like Killycomain and Corcrain, while quieter areas such as Loughgall and Richhill rely more on neighbouring towns for anything beyond the basics. Transport is where the suburb shows its clearest split. Corcrain and The Birches both benefit from their own railway stations, making them strong choices for commuters, while Ballybay, Loughgall, Mahon and Richhill depend more on road links and a car for day-to-day life, as public transport is limited. Whatever the transport setup, strong road connections tie the whole suburb together, linking residents onward to Portadown, Armagh and Mid Ulster. Overall, Baltytum suits families and buyers after a settled, community-oriented lifestyle with good value for money, though those without a car will find some neighbourhoods far more convenient than others.
